What is an SOW?

At its core, SOW (Statement of Work) is a document that covers the working agreement between our client (aka you) and us at Nice Commerce. We use SOW's to make sure expectations are clear and agreed-upon.

At Nice Commerce, the SOW outlines the scope of the work to be done, provides a detailed description of specific tasks, and establishes a timeline for completion before your products are received and placed within our warehouse to be shipped. It's like a map that helps define and guide your e-commerce fulfillment.  It ensures that both you and our team members know exactly what they should be doing to make sure we deliver the results you need, on time and with an agreed upon cost. ( Think.... no surprises!)

Examples of a SOW at Nice Commerce include:

  • Folding, bagging, tagging and barcoding product
  • Stamping logos on bags, boxes and shippers
  • Quality Assurance (QA) checks
  • Kitting
  • ...and much more!

What does the process look like?

Step 1: Upon submitting a PO for products that will require some extra attention, please communicate with Support@NiceCommerce.com to issue a Statement of Work (SOW).

Step 2:  When you receive the SOW (via HubSpot for digital signature and payment), review the information detailing the project’s work requirements to ensure accuracy. Remember, the SOW is all about clarity and detail. Make sure all business terms and acronyms are defined. (You might call it a "hoop" earring and Charlie in the warehouse might think you're talking about packing a basketball hoop! We all need to speak the same language in order to get the task done.)

Step 3: Sign the document and pay quoted cost. All SOW work must be paid for in advance prior to completion.

Step 4: Once the SOW has been signed by the client and returned, our Accounts team will go over your PO and the SOW detailing any additional preparation with our Receiving department. You can review our receiving process here.

Step 5: Once the product arrives at our warehouse, our Receiving department will complete the scope of work detailed in the SOW.

Step 6: Once the SOW is completed, your product will be received and placed within our warehouse and ready to ship to your customers. Badda Bing, Badda Boom!
